We all know skincare is essential to keeping that youthful glow. But how many of us are actually consistent with it? That’s why I like to keep my skincare routine as simple as possible making it easy for me to maintain a regular regimen.
Because I have sensitive acne-prone skin, I like to use a light or mild facial cleanser every morning and night. The one I’m currently loving at the moment is Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple one-step facial cleanser. It’s super gentle on my skin and doesn’t break me out. To get deeper into my pores, I like to use this facial cleanser in conjunction with my face brush by Skin For Perfect Skin. By the way, this face brush is a LOT more on the affordable side than the popular Clarisonic face brush, but still does a pretty damn good job. I like to alternate between using my face brush because it can be very rough and abrasive on my skin if used too often.
When I want to pamper myself, I like to use Glamglow’s Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment for extra goodness. I usually use this every other week since it is on the expensive side. Gotta save those coins! Out of all the face masks I’ve tried, this one by far has to be my favorite because of its ingredients and the cool tingling effect it leaves on my skin. It does harden up on the face as time progresses, but after rinsing, my skin is so soft and smooth!
In the past, I’ve had horrible luck with facial toners. They would either burn or leave my skin feeling dry, patchy and itchy. But this Cleansing Micellar Water by Simple feels just like… well, water! Needless to say, this toner does not irritate my skin at all. I like to squirt a few drops on a round cotton pad and wipe it on my face after cleansing or after a face mask to lift away any extra dirt. This facial toner works really well!
Another splurge item that I use is Lancome’s Advanced Génifique Youth Activating serum. Let’s be honest. I’m not getting any younger, so I don’t mind forking out the bucks to ensure I incorporate a good anti-aging product in my skincare regimen. I like to apply this serum before adding my moisturizer. It goes on super smooth and sinks into the skin which I love. It feels like I’m gliding silk across my face, which it better, because of how much it costs. I always feel fancy and luxurious whenever I’m using it.
And lastly, I’m very picky about the type of moisturizers I apply on my face, particularly because I have very oily skin. So, I like to only use ones that are meant for that reason. I don’t want my face feeling like a grease ball! I like to alternative between my two favorite moisturizers. I use Aveeno’s Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer in the mornings and Alba Botanica’s Oil-free Moisturizer at night. I’ve repurchased these products several times. Both moisturize my skin so well without making me feel oily. I apply a thin layer all over my face and that usually gets the job done.
